Daljeet Kaur: Shaleen and I have had a BIG FIGHT, he's lying that he won the case and got a Clean Chit
Popular TV actress Daljeet Kaur breaks her silence on her current status with estranged husband Shaleen Bhanot and spills all the details about what's made her life tough even after an out-of-court settlement
Having separated from her husband Shaleen Bhanot, Daljeet Kaur faced a severe financial crisis. Domestic violence, Infidelity - Daljeet has seen it all (Shaleen is a violent man involved with a married woman, June 27). LIfe was not easy until she managed to return to TV.
In October 2016, Shalin and she had an out-of-court settlement. Speculation was rife that Shaleen had won the case, but the story was far different (REVEALED: Why Daljeet Kaur Dropped Charges Against Shaleen Bhanot, October 26).
We caught up with Daljeet for a long, frank chat on what has been going on in her life.
Read on for this heart-rending copy which will make you wonder what world we are living in:
Why were you so quiet after your case with Shaleen ended?
Ended?
Yeah...
The case never began, there was no trial, not a single hearing.

Huh?
I was all set to fight, but then Shaleen and I felt that we should sort it out with an out-of-court settlement. Even my family felt likewise.
Why?
Well, you know how long the marital battles are fought in court in our country. I had already experience an ordeal in running around to cops and lawyers when Shaleen and I separated, how much more could I digress from my responsibility of my rearing my son Jaydon (earlier named Shaarav but changed by Daljeet because she didn't want the 'Sh' in the name, no prizes for guessing why).
I have to earn, I have to shoot every day. I am surviving in a rented house. It's not that Shaleen's money has given me the luxury of buying/owning a house. And above all, I have to come back to my son with a happy frame of mind in the evening. Those days and evenings would have come much later otherwise.
So you got the custody of your child?
Yes, permanent custody. I don't mind if Shaleen wants to meet him once in a while. But I shall not include him in the day-to-day proceedings and decisions pertaining to Jaydon's life.
Will Shaleen be paying for Jaydon's education?
No, nothing. It's just a basic lump sum amount he has given me (pauses).

But I have no complaints finally. Now, I am feeling free and relieved. Now, I can figure the rest of my life without looking behind my shoulder. But yes, I was deeply disturbed ever since we had an out-of-court settlement. Ab thoda theek lag raha hai.
What was the problem?
I was bombarded with calls saying that Shaleen has gone scot free, and that he's saying that he has won the case and got a clean chit. As I said there were no proceedings in the Court, so where's the question of 'getting a clean chit and going scot free'?
Did you pick up the phone and speak to Shaleen about that?
Yes, I did.
And what did he say?
Well, obviously he denied. And, we ended up having a big fight.

Is Shaleen attached to Jaydon now?
I can't comment on that, but we just hope that Jaydon has a normal upbringing and we do not deprive him of anything in life.
Over to the divorce. When is it coming?
February 9, 2017.
Any second thoughts on getting married again in life?
Nothing yet. As I told you in my earlier interviews, I want to focus just on my son for now. Aur kuch soojhta hi nahin.
